'Permanent Wave' Story Code '67302' by Beverly Bridges

2nd June 1983: Sam finds himself in the leathered trousers of Beverly Hills hairstylist Frank Bianca, on a mission to save the life of his girlfriend, Laura, and her disabled son Kyle, after the boy witnesses the murder of drugstore owner Phil Hartman. Laura is distraught, having lost her husband when he was killed for witnessing a mob hit, and she refuses to involve her son in the police investigation in order to protect him; however, Al informs Sam that unless he finds Phil’s killer, Laura and Kyle will be dead within forty-eight hours. Believing that Kyle has important information that could help Detective Arnie Ward with his enquiries, Sam presses the boy for details of the shooting and learns that Phil was illegally selling drugs to junkies. Sam immediately informs the police – but as soon as he returns home, he and his family are shot at by a sniper…
